Roger Cook maintains the government supports live export.

Roger Cook faced his first Question Time as WA Premier on Tuesday and Roe MLA Peter Rundle and Murray Watt, Federal Agriculture Minister, were there to ask him the questions we all want answers to.

Peter Rundle MLA asked Mr Cook if he had plans to "actually talk to Anthony Albanese", with Mr Watt adding "and show your support for this WA industry." Mr Cook responded, "We'll make out position clear to the Albanese government." Mr Cook continued, "Ultimately, this is the decision of the Federal Government and one (for) which they have a mandate."

Mark McGowan, while he was the WA Premier continually claimed that he supported the WA Live Export Industry, Mr Cook told that the "position has not changed".

He continued by saying that his government would "fight for the best possible outcome for the sheep industry in WA."

"The government is committed to ensuring the best outcome for the WA sheep supply chain and the wider regional communities that will be impacted."

"I encourage everyone with an interest in relation to the sheep industry to have their say during the consultation process."

AGform Response

We HAVE been making stating our opinions about this ban during the "consultation process" but they are falling on deaf ears. It is not a consultation process, there is no consultation happening.

We NEED Roger Cook to stand up and tell the Albanese government that this is not right, to highlight how the banning of live export is going to affect the industry, to affect families, and to affect WA as a whole.

These premiers are saying they support the industry, it is time to SHOW IT.
